Weston-super-Mare Museum is a real treasure trove that tells the wonderful story of the area's varied and colourful past. Take a stroll around the former gasworks company building or just relax in the attractive palm lined courtyard cafe.

Learning

The Museum offers pre-booked visits for schools and adult groups. School groups are welcome but need to book in advance. Adult helpers are admitted free and teachers are invited to a free preliminary visit. The maximum group size is 90 pupils. A meeting room is available free-of-charge to store bags, coats and to eat lunch in. The Museum also offers hands-on activities in Clara's Corner and the Seaside Gallery and a hands-on area with activities for under 5s.

Teachers can borrow a range of handling packs containing original and facsimile sheets for Key Stages 1 and 2, which can be used by booked parties. Please request handling packs when booking.

Commercial Hire & Services

The Museum courtyard is available to hire for special events outside normal hours at a cost of £50.00 per hour VAT exempt (£60.00 per hour at weekends VAT exempt). The Art Gallery is available for hire for groups of up to 50 people. To enquire about using the museum space for your event, please contact the Museum.
