Located on the Stourhead Estate, Alfred's Tower is one of the finest and most eccentric follies in England. It was created nearly 200 years ago to commemorate the life and deeds of King Alfred the Great.

Kingsettle Hill is thought to be the place King Alfred set up his standard after he came out of hiding on the Isle of Athelney over 1100 years ago.
