Muse: Makers in museums


For the Muse: Makers in Museums project, sculptor Dorcas Casey has been using domestic craft techniques such as stitching and casting from jelly moulds to develop an installation which responds to the Bruton Museum collection.

Dorcas studied at Winchester School of Art and works as a sculptor based in Jamaica Street Studios in Bristol. She was awarded a bursary from the Royal British Society of Sculptors in 2013. She won the Public Speaks Award in the Broomhill National Sculpture Prize and her work features in the book 'The Language of Mixed Media Sculpture',published in 2014. Recently she exhibited her work at Banksy’s Dismaland in Weston-Super-Mare, was selected for the Columbia Threadneedle prize exhibition and created a performance based on her sculptures for Glastonbury Festival 2016.
